We’ve all heard of the antioxidant properties of green tea, but what is white tea? Well, when it comes to cleansing your body, white tea is the pick of the bunch. White tea is incredibly high in polyphenols, antioxidants and catechins (a ground group of antioxidants that have been found to reduce cholesterol) so it’s full of health benefits, but it tastes great too! White tea is made from the young buds of the tea plant as this is when the buds are at their most potent. The natural drying process the leaves go through allows them to preserve their natural goodness. You can buy white tea in various forms including loose white tea and organic white tea and is predominantly grown in China. The name derives from the very fine slivery-white hairs on the unopened buds of the tea plant; the drink itself is a pale yellow colour, not white.
